It's (Easier) Being Green....

Summer is definitely underway, and thus let the summer concert tours begin.  I do so remember those times fondly in my younger age- that is before I settled into the old age of 28!  Its so reassuring to see that despite all the music and excitement (and waste) that promoters are beginning to focus on the environment.   VANS WARPED TOUR founder and director Kevin Lyman today publicly announced the new environmental initiatives taking place this summer at the annual summer concert tour. Know as the Eco Warped Initiative, the promoter is partnering with EarthEco International to bring an earth conscious edge to this year's festivities. All tour busses will be powered by biodiesel with locations hosting educational tents and souviner stands focused on sustainable products.  Featured bands this year include Angels and Airwaves, Gym Class Heroes, Relient K, Against Me!, and new additions Pennywise and Katy "I Kissed a Girl" Perry.  Finally, it seems that great community spirit and planetary awareness of the Grateful Dead era has come to fruition!
